I graduated from a small university in 2008 with Bachelor’s in English and a lifelong goal of working as an editor. After working a few odd jobs (including the age-old English-degree-holder’s pursuit of slinging coffee), I started my career in earnest at Blizzard Entertainment as a Technical Writer in early 2010. I wrote in-game error messages, created style guides for 5000+ employees, and optimized the Battle.net Support Site for maximum usability,

In 2014, I moved to Blizzard’s Battle.net UX Team to work as a Content Strategist. I relished the opportunity to learn from a team of 20+ UX Designers and Researchers and immediately established content principles and guidelines. I wrote content for the Battle.net Shop, the Blizzard Gear Store, and all six games—from StarCraft to Overwatch.

I joined Blizzard’s Global PR team in 2016 just in time for BlizzCon, the annual 25,000+ attendee convention. I wrote biographies for 100+ game developers, drafted and published press releases, and revamped the team’s internal documentation structure. Over the course of my 8 years at Blizzard, I was credited on 15 video games.

In March 2018, I moved to the tech world and joined Facebook Gaming. With my team, I created developer resources and built new products—like Instant Tournaments—to encourage friendly competition. Since joining the Messenger team in 2020, I’ve continued to focus on user needs, auditing our content and design work for accuracy and collaborating with Engineering and Product Design to refine the Messenger desktop app and Messenger Rooms.

I see great content design as both an art and a science. It requires a blend of instinct and deep knowledge, diplomacy and communication. Most of all, it meets the needs of the user.
